Even if both fighters cut weight perfectly, Some fighters cut more weight than others... if person A weighs 160 and person B weighs 170, and they both cut to 155... one will be stronger on fight night.

Basically remember Edgar at 155 and how he was always smaller but just a little faster and had more Cardio than his opponents .

It's ultimately the fighters choice to cut weight. If more of them chose to cut less maybe others would follow. But if the others don't follow they'd be at a size disadvantage and fighters need to accept that .

Cutting weight is not forced on anyone. It's just highly incentivized cause everyone does it for an advantage
You also quoted me just to agree?

Not sure how this would work. Can you expand on why you feel this is better than other proposed solutions?
Same as BJJ comps. You weigh in as you get on the mat (or very shortly before hand).

Yeah I think it was a typo.
Fight. Step on a scale after its over and if you make weight you win. You can still weigh in the night before and face off but after the fight you still have to make weight. Bring a scale in or have it have it cageside. Or weigh in as they walk in. Just as long as both fighters are fighting at the same weight in the cage.

If you weigh in afterwards, what's to stop a guy turning up 30lbs over? Also, sweat loss is significant in a fight, so a fighter may have started the fight over weight.

Nah I'm just saying it's never going to be perfect like that because fighters come in all sizes and builds and no one will be able to match each other's weight without cutting any weight themselves

I like your idea and I had a similar proposal, where Fighters who wants to fight each other just sign to fight regardless of a fixed weight. If they already signed the contract, I'm sure they don't care if the opponent came in heavy or skinny as possible, because they've already made that calculation when they decided to fight this person.

Like if Mousasi and Rockhold decided to fight each other, both won't really care if both were walking in heavy or light. If the difference seems too much where creates a disadvantage to one side, they have option not to sign the contract, and don't fight. But my point, usually when Fighters wants to fight each other, they don't care about what weight they'll be fighting. They want to fight that particular opponent. I doubt Mighty Mouse will challenge Jon Jones you know?

They have to weigh-in on the day of signing and weigh in as they enter the cage. (for ranking purpose?)

There could be a freak show scene but that's where commission comes into play like if it's 30 pound difference during the day of signing, don't allow that shit.

Rankings, Bonuses, Champs could be sorted out after based on the success at which weight they took the win at (weighing before entering the cage).

I'm all for doing what it takes to seeing it change. Both fighters in top shape at the same weight. Instead of cutting put on good weight and fight in the best shape you can be in.

I think it bears repeating: When fighters cut weight there is no way in hell we are seeing the best that fighter has to offer. Doing a weight cut SUCKS and you are left feeling like shit and then overloading your body just to feel half-normal after the weigh-in. This is not healthy (as we all know) but also it drains a fighter's ability to perform at his best. People wonder why guys gas out a lot and it has a lot to do with cutting.

Imagine what a football game would look like if everyone the day before was dehydrated and feeling like shit.....
