Kajan Johnson was at the center of attention at a Reebok summit part of the UFC Athlete Retreat in Las Vegas this past weekend for criticizing the UFC’s apparel deal with Reebok.

During the final minutes of the summit, the UFC lightweight stood up and spoke out against the Reebok deal, which has been in effect for nearly two years, saying he has lost 80 percent of his sponsorship money because of the partnership.

Johnson said UFC fighters never have the chance to discuss the deal with the UFC and Reebok, so he looked at this summit as a rare opportunity to do so.

I have no idea who this guy is.....still
He's has a good rep in Canada especially here in BC. His home town is about 8 hours north of me or something. He was on TUF and Rory fought (Rory won via GNp iirc) him for the KOTC LW belt a decade ago. Seems like a good guy.

Good for Him.. he's the type that I would want on a fighters board cuz he may not be a big name but he's got big balls and stood up for what he believes in... the fight game needs more of this...

That was a really good read. I admit I don't know much about KJ, but I greatly admired his message, his tone, and his willingness to be First.

It's easy to pile on after someone else gets things started, but being the first one to speak up requires huge balls, a lack of brains, or both. Mr Johnson does not sound like he lacks brains.

Sadly, in my experience, guys like this are often martyrs.

Have you noticed that everytime they have a "productive meeting" they are still pissed off like 3 months later?
LOL. UFC are pros at blowing smoke up these guys asses.....

A productive meeting = signed contract with a pay increase, not a lunch and "thanks for your time, we'll get back to you"...
