What's everyone been up to recently? I've been messing around with a few lapel chokes. And using the lapel more in general. Also we had a very small class today so my coach asked if I wanted to go over anything in particular....I said footlocks! Lots and lots of footlocks. What's about you guys?
Technical mount
Baseball choke and maintaining side control with lapel skirt
Renzo escape
Spider collar guard
Variation of standing and kneeling passes

body triangle.
there's something deeply satisfying about suffocating your partner.

I am traveling across the country with my family on vacation, so I have been on a hiatus. I am hoping to drop in on a class at Victory MMA in San Diego this Tuesday, and will be back to normal training in SC the following week.

You guys still training in this heat? I was being a savage all this week, took a week of work and trained twice a day while fasting but these last two days have been unbearable over here. Is there such thing as being too hot to train? I can't drink water while training so I don't want to die lol

just do some NoGi flow drills. And I've had to sit out for some extended periods for injuries - go to class and sit on the side, take notes. You'll be amazed at the details you pick up watching others drill and spar.

It's gi tomorrow :( I find it very hard to just watch jiu jitsu and not join in although I agree, you notice a lot more when you are on the sides watching. I might wear my super light gi tomorrow with no t shirt underneath and just light drill, seems the most sensible option

find the guy that's always tapping you and/or stuffing killing your setups, and watch his game from the outside.
You'll be motivated for the study, and it will help you move beyond your next training plateau.

This week I've been doing a production pyro gig for the EDC festival in Vegas.... So no training this week.... But before I traveled, I've just been running hardcore drill sessions. I've been trying (and through their acknowledgement) to improve the timing and reflexes of my team, so drilling escapes, transitions, takedowns, and high pace (low strength) flowing..... I hate taking this time off, but it's good for the body and mind.

I trained MMA friday. Did cardio Saturday, which was cycling. Had to wear baggy shorts and go topless but it was nice aside from that. Today I'm training - we'll see how that goes.

Yeah trained last week. Will see how it goes this week it's silly warm . I don't think I would spar personally without water I think I would really struggle. Be safe bro if you are on the sides watching take a notepad and jot things down a couple of guys I've seen with injuries have done that and it's made it less frustrating

Just ignore them and stay in the grappling forum. I read a lot of bullshit from guys in OT and cageside which is why I rarely post there.

This is what I like high percentage low risk. Not sure about the midway point getting the head on the floor doesn't seem much control but I'd like to try this. Have an obsession with triangles at the moment. I've tapped two guys with them but set up countless and lost them because I got impatient or did the wrong set up or neglected to hold the head.

Determined to get the triangle from mount working smoothly. Not the biggest guy but I normally get bumped into position or have the speed to set it up. Just need to do the proper steps.

High percentage pffft I either really fucked it up or it's not that high. Fed the lapel though got my head on the ground started to work my way around and he escaped and got on top as I was showing my back like a moron lol.

spend a little more time choking up on the grip, keep your weight on his chest as you move. The way Stephen shows it, he has his hips really high as he walks over, but I find I get better pressure keeping my hips low, sprawling my feet out, and driving in 'with my toes'...
