With just over a week to go before UFC 213 in Las Vegas, welterweight contender Donald Cerrone has withdrawn from his highly-anticipated matchup with Robbie Lawler due to an undisclosed injury. MMA Fighting reported the news on Wednesday.

This appears to be the first time that Cerrone (32-8, 1 NC) has ever pulled out of a scheduled fight because of an injury. “Cowboy” is looking to bounce back from a TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC on FOX 24 in January. The defeat put an end to the former UFC lightweight title challenger’s undefeated record at 170 lbs. He made the decision to change weight classes following his TKO to then-champion Rafael dos Anjos in December 2015.

At least they're moving it instead of just canceling it. I'm starting to think this fight isn't going to happen until they're both 50 in Bellator.

If they move this to 214 that will make that card deeper. DC/Jones, Cyborg/Evinger and Lawler/Cerrone. Starting to look like a card I would buy.

I like both guys so I would prefer they give Robbie a new opponent and keep the same date. I don't really wanna see Robbie beat up Cowboy.

It's literally like in the picture. There was no way that this was going down on the first attempt. The fight is simply to good to be made simly.

Good point. 214 was main event heavy. They need 3-4 more fights like this on it.
