It's funny that Serra went from 170 to 270 after he retired. I wonder if he's been taking dick pills too.
He's been very open about being on TRT. He had gotten really fat at one point but then started "treatment" and has slimmed up a bit and turned pretty diesel.

Dana has a personal vendetta against him and is giving him the shit treatment, despite the fact that he's the most recognizable face in MMA news reporting.
Agree he's on Dana's shit list, and I'm no Dana apologist by any means, but I feel like Dana feels like he took this dude that was a blogger that posted on message boards...gave him access to himself and fighters that not many others had at the time, helped him get the FOX gig, etc...then Ariel gets some popularity, and forgot who helped him get to where he is. Got some popularity because of the access Dana gave him, his ego inflated, and he suddenly thought he was some celebrity cult figure that was untouchable. So Dana likes to smack him down every now and then, and remind him where's he at on the food chain.
Now, I thought Dana pulling his credentials and telling him he would ruin his career was bullshit. I also think this incident is pretty petty. But, I also think Ariel is an arrogant douche that could stand to be knocked down a peg or two. Luke Thomas is in the same mold.
When you are suckling at the teat of the cow that is the baldfather it makes sense that his enemies are your enemies.
Giving access to the only people who will give you coverage,which you desire, does not equate to subservience and ass kissery in perpetuity.
Ariel got the exact reaction he wanted, nice reporting.
Ariel is an instigator, his main objective is to create drama and stir shit up. This helps him get viewers, he is a sensationalist ..he needs drama in order to stay relevant.
When fighters pick up on his bullshit, he quickly will throw out a compliment or ask a personal question off topic to appear to be friends.
Fuck guys like these ....Helwani needs to go work for those TMZ (mostly all former lawyers) who dig up dirt on celebs to try and get views and make money.

Not saying I expect that. At all. I like it when Ariel asks tough questions and think that's an important role in journalism. All I'm saying is, Ariel seems to have let the success he's garnered largely due the access given to him by the UFC, go to his head and he comes off like an arrogant cunt most of the time...like people should bow to knees to get on his show, making smartass comments to fighters, etc. He comes off sometimes like he's just as important as the promotions & fighters, which he's not. All I'm saying is, a touch of humility would do the guy some good IMO.
I think your shortselling Ariel's influence on MMA at this time. His MMA Hour is THE show for fighters to go on and get exposure and he knows that.
Agree. Never understood why Ariel has to always bring it back to Ariel. He's enamored with himself for some reason. I don't know how he has the balls to talk to some fighters the way he does sometimes....

That's fine, but that's not really an excuse for being arrogant and condescending is it? Jay Bilas is the best college analyst in the business, and he's super down to earth. Ariel acts like the dork that got picked on in school and never got laid, and now that he has a bit of celebrity status, he's going to remind everyone of it every 10 seconds. Whereas Bilas was a jock thru college, played at Duke, so his popularity on TV is no big deal. In sports terms, act like you've been there before and remember what got you to the dance.
I think Ariel is a douche, but serra, a guy I like, is being a douche to the douche for brownie poo us from Danus. This annoys me.
