You're not gonna get a 'Trump supporter" to denounce his dog whistles and obvious bias in favor of white supremacy and neo nazis.
Not even if other respectable republicans came out and condemned his speech... which they did, including the two Bushes.
The two Bushes who were responsible for going into the middle east for no fucking reason, costing thousands of innocent lives and billions of dollars? Weapons of mass destruction my ass. The Bushes who Trump has criticized on multiple occasions? The two Bushes that are from good ole boy Texas? Nah, those two wouldn't have any agenda against Trump whatsoever. I would definitely take what they say as gospel. Two of the most honest Americans God ever created.

This whole situation with Trump/riots/racism is set up just like everything else they do. They divide us, make us angry and fight each other, and then have the perfect excuse to come in with martial law and control us further.
I am not sure if it is set up or not. But it is for certain that they gain, and we lose when we are divided.

Yep. And despite all that, unlike Trump who thinks there are some fine neo-nazis, they're still anti-nazi...... one of them even fought in a war against the original nazis.

Wasn't the alt right made up by the alt left?
No. The question is bogus. Why would you even want to believe that, picking the question out of...I think you know where.

Richard B. Spencer - Wikipedia

There's more to be said -- e.g. about the reasons that white supremacists would and do happily adopt a status like "alt right" as opposed to "neo-nazi" etc. -- but the short answer is no.

Not trying to shine anybody on by only replying to this. I have wine to drink, and food to eat, and other even better shiet to enjoy -- and I hate this fucking thread -- so am leaving it at that.

Crazy how much politics is discussed all over the internet on a daily basis. It dominates the conversation everywhere - social media, forums, etc

I don't remember a time where politics were discussed soooo much. Maybe it's because I'm older now so I see it more, but I feel like it's more of a topic of conversation among people in general now than at any point I've been alive. Anyone else feel that way?

Was it like this in the last few elections in the months leading up to and then after it was over? I can't really remember it being a huge deal like things are now.

he might have some power but overall i think he's a puppet, it's the people behind the scenes who are running things
That is why I said "Team Trump" and not just "Trump". I think he's running more than Dubya would've been allowed to, but probably less than Obama was, but we'll (probably) never know :)

he didn't say there were some good nazis, he said there were some good people on the side that had the nazis on it.

are you calling me a nazi? and Wild? and all the people who don't feel he really did anything wrong?

it's common knowledge many people who served under Hitler were good people, and we integrated some of them into our society ffs

You've been hoodwinked into thinking that every single thing ISIS stand for is inherently evil when in fact many of the grievances they have are shared by normal everyday people that aren't terrorists and don't support terrorism.

Trump clearly & repeatedly condemned the bigotry & violence in Charlottesville. He clearly & repeatedly condemned Nazi and white supremacist groups. So what exactly is Helwani so disgusted by? Trump calling Antifa out for their role in the violence that occurred?
Kind of disappointed in this thread. Whether or not you agree with his interpretation of what the president said, he's a jew and there were people walking around holding Nazi flags in the US in 2017. Mocking his disgust is out of touch, in my opinion. I get that not pandering to people's personal issues is the "in" thing nowadays, and I know you run this joint but does this really belong in Cageside, and should it be posted by the powers that be in this forum?

To be honest, retweeting a political post led to me unfollowing the TMMAC twitter page a while ago. Didn't matter that I didn't agree with the opinion expressed in the post, it's just unprofessional and not the reason I followed in the first place.

To get ahead of the response, I'm not outraged or angry, and this isn't because I don't like the president. I also don't think I have the power to decide what goes on the site, or that I should. I think you guys do a great job. I'm just adding my two cents.

What else was he supposed to say? Is he not supposed to call it like it is? The one complaint people in this country have had for years is politicians being politicians...bullshit artists. Now we have one that although certainly isn't honest about everything, was honest about what happened on a tragic day that could have been avoided, and that's not good enough either. Its agenda by the MSM and the far left, plain and simple. At least in my opinion anyway. It's sad that young lady lost her life. By all accounts, she seemed like a very good person and it's unfortunate some crazed lunatic took her life. But there's no denying that Antifa played just as much of a role in inciting the violence in Charlottesville as the white supremacist protesters did. Coming down there in riot gear, faces covered, wearing helmets, carrying clubs and bats, attacking people. But if anyone says that...even while condemning Nazi white supremacists in the same breath...they're immediately labeled a racist. Sorry but that's bullshit and that type of agenda is what it causing the demise of this country that we're witnessing.
The timing of his statements was weird. First he went with "many sides", then he specifically called out the white supremacists the next day and had his PR team say that he didn't mention them the first time so he "wouldn't dignify them", which is something that he disproved the next day (and with all of the condemning he constantly does to people he doesn't like). The next day, he came back full force saying both sides were complicit "because he got all of the details", when details were out the entire time. He was controlling the narrative in a less-than-genuine way, much like every other politician that came before him. In my opinion, that is not worthy of being commended for his honesty.

I tend to agree with this now that I've heard his speech, and definitely his latest speech, where he missed a chance, as I think he's obligated to fully condemn the Nazi movement in America. His beef with Antifa and the media should've been saved for another day.

He was clearly trying to protect his reputation with his constituency. I am not saying his constituency by-and-large is pro-Nazi, but they're certainly anti-antifa and he wanted to stop the outrage by acknowledging the white supremacy while also throwing in a "well, they suck too".

Antifa is annoying and their tactics are terrible, and they should be criticized. The president's framing of the situation in the most recent press conferences, coupled with his defensiveness, and passive aggressive (and sometimes completely aggressive) insults aimed at the people asking questions really made that press conference embarrassing for him. I understand his point to an extent, but when you're constantly being accused of racism and you've got Nazis in the streets 6 months after your inauguration, there's a lot better things to do than scream at the press saying the issue was 50/50. Bash Antifa in another situation; he wouldn't have had to be disingenuous and he wouldn't have had such a crazy backlash, but as has become the usual, he talked himself into a corner that he had to try to yell himself out of.

You're trying to avoid answering, so I will ask you another direct question. Were you or Helwani equally disgusted when Trump didn't call out the protesters who carried these following flags in 2017:

Alternative question: Did you, Helwani or the rest of the media got disgusted when Clinton, Obama and Sanders didn't call these people out for carrying symbols of genocide?

Just FYI, communism is responsible for far many more deaths than nazis, but Hollywood doesn't make a movie about that every year since the 40s, so I guess it is ok to be a commie.
I'll personally answer- I think they should have been called out. I would have liked if Trump called them out, especially if he did it correctly. I would have liked if Obama, Clinton or Sanders called it out as well.

Pointing out hypocrisy on the other side does not make a point for your side. This is a major distraction in American political discourse. I'll use an example that isn't self-serving-
I am not a democrat, but I certainly liked Barack Obama more than I liked George W. Bush. Bush went to war without congressional approval. I believe Obama did the same. When Obama did it, cries of "but George W Bush did it too!" undoubtedly flooded the realm of political discourse. That's bullshit though, because the people who were saying it elected Obama because he was different, and because they thought he would not make the same mistakes as his predecessors. Due to that fact, "but George Bush did it too!" should hold no water. He's not supposed to do what George Bush did. Same thing with Trump. He was elected because he's "not a politician". Because of that, "but the other politicians did THIS!" should hold zero weight to Trump supporters.

It's the fact that you can't criticize Antifa without being considered a Nazi yourself, that bugs me. That we should rid ourselves of Nazi's should be common snese, but I do not wish to replace them with the next radical and violent group that wants to control how you think, and that is constantly on the lookout for attacks on those who disagree.
Well said, friend.
