Diego Sanchez is moving up to take on Matt Brown in the welterweight division on the card hopefully being headlined by Anthony Pettis vs. Dustin Poirier on November 11 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Brown (20-16) is riding a 3-fight losing streak and has one win in his last six fights. His most recent match was a loss to former lightweight Donald Cerrone via head kick KO.

Sanchez (29-10) has alternated wins and losses going 3-3 in his last six, most recently losing by KO to Al Iaquinta. Although Sanchez has been fighting at lightweight for the last few years, he fought at welterweight for much of his career.

Both fighters have participated in some of the most popular matches in UFC history, including Brown vs. Erick Silva and Sanchez vs. Gilbert Melendez. Brown commented through Twitter, prior to the fight announcement, that his match with Sanchez will be "a barn burner for sure".

God dammit, you beat me by a minute. Immortal Nightmare was a better title though. Mods you can wipe my thread.

Edit, never mind. You posted this at 846 I looked through the threads and didn't see it. And I was just making fun of wild for doing it to me.

Matt should destroy Diego here....right?
I'm not sure. They both have questionable chins at this point. Neither should be taking hits to the head. Diego can still grapple, so (I know this is not likely but) that's what I'm hoping he tries to do. Brown has been submitted 10 times.

I think Diego would have been a champ if not for giving up his grappling roots and falling in love with his striking. I think the technical term is Pulveritis.

I don't see it!!

I'm kidding, Diego looked old as hell in his last fight and will probably get killed in the clinch. I don't think Sanchez can go at Brown like he did at Guida years ago, but could be a great fight if neither guy crumbles. I think Brown's still been putting in better performances against better competition and all at welterweight. His 5 rounds against Lawler and 3 against Hendricks was a better showing than anything we've seen from Diego in a long long time. He also whupped on Tim Means, and hurt Donald Cerrone.

I'm hoping Sanchez annihilates the junkie scum cause I never climb off the Nightmare/Dream/Lionheart warwagon, but that UFC 200 stoppage loss to Joe Lauzon was really sad, then seeing him get run the fuck over by Alia Quinta was heartbreaking.

If Brown loses this fight, then I don't know what to say. He should win this one rather easily IMO.

This should be an awesome fight. Not to keen on watching
Diego take more head trauma though. Especially after seeing
that other MMA fighter die from it
