I think he just looked dehydrated.
I think he was surprised by MacGregor's aggression and I think the crowd being on MacGregor's side emotionally hurt him (really). This is supposed to be his sport and they're cheering for the other guy? Further, despite what he said about 1:1, having the crowd behind you helps. And that crowd was like mini-Ireland.

I expect Mayweather by mid/late KO though.

I love Pat Miletich
Did anyone listen to the Commentators after the weigh ins? To Miletich?

Pat was a boxer first. He and that boxing trainer guy do a breakdown on differences in styles, boxing vs mma boxing.

Then Pat proceeds to tell how one could use mma boxing to his advantage in a boxing match. Boxing trainer kinda says that's cheating. Pat says yeah but boxing refs don't know to look for it. He sounded kinda smug about it, too. lol I love Pat.

Pat "Meathead Tom Waits in a goofy jacket" Miletich getting the call to work with Paulie in that segment was fukin aces.

I don't think Conor will win but I'm hoping he puts on a good show. By good show I hope for some "holy fuck moments", pure Conor craziness, I hope he can gain respect for MMA not make a mockery of it to outsiders.

I'll watch but only because I'm a fight fan. I've been more excited for fights on free tv to be honest. An example is Cain / JDS 1.The excitement I feel is like when Zuluzinho fought Butterbean or Choi fought Fedor. It was more of a spectacle and not having a clue what was about to happen. I remember laughing more during the fights than actually being invested. I feel that will be me tomorrow night.

Nay, imo weighin in under by several pounds probably means he weighed in fully hydrated & that he'll be 20 lbs lighter or so than Conor at game time.

If he was within 1 or 2 lbs, he would probably come in with shit in his pockets to make it look like he cut weight. Coming in several lbs under is congruous with lots of other coverage that shows him (in passing, not necessarily on purpose) not "sweating" the weight.

As a sometimes coach & all the time handicapper, I know weigh-ins don't really mean shit, but I haven't ever known a fighter who didn't take the mental game of it seriously. Literally every single fighter I've ever known felt they won/lost fights at the weigh-in. Dumb, but you gotta roll with it because the bottom line is everything should matter, if your guy is focused, and the more every bit matters the better. If your guy goes to bed feeling like he won the first battle, the weigh-in, he sleeps better. That probably doesn't matter, either, but everything that brings your guy in feeling like he has an edge has some kind of mental advantage to it -- maybe he just digs a little deeper in that critical moment than he would have, without that belief, at some critical moment. Any self-aware person who's ever competed in anything long term knows that plenty of times victory is claimed millimeters from the edge of "breaking."

If Floyd came in that light (which he did), it probably means he weighed in at his real weight, without cutting of any kind.

Conor stands almost zero chance.

He stands even less chance after round 4.

However, those first 3-4 rounds are going be electric.

Then there's is the knowledge that butthurt is coming no matter the outcome and with that I am at peace with all results.

If Conor can kneetap & get the best of clinches, it could be real interesting in an Andre Ward sorta way.

On the bright side, agreeing with ya, the lines seem to be normalizing. -645/+530 on 5d now. I might have to move my scalp to the kneetapper side if it goes further.

O beauteous non-random randomness....
