it's a stacked week in muay thai with a huge money fight tomorrow featuring lady boy fighter Nong Rose and retired golden era legend Kompayak Fairtex but tonight's show is the most legit one with RIttewada fighting Nontakit for the vacant Lumpinee 140 lbs belt.

It's been a long month with muay thai fights being suspended in honor of the one year anniversary of the death of the King of Thailand. November is coming with a ridiculous schedule of stacked cards < +++ Muaythai2000 Site :: Muay Thai Program+++ > and Yoksutai just uploaded a very insightful interview with the head coach of the greatest muay thai camp of the decade according to the Sport's Authority of Thailand (and to myself), Kiatmuu9:

Muay thai is back! After a long month without any fights in the Stadiums in honor of the late King of Thailand, finally tonight we had some action at Raja Stadium starting a sequence of ridiculously stacked events. Main event was a pretty good fight that had even a knockdown after the bell in the 3rd round - and that is no reason for no drama at all in muay thai (imagine if that happened in the ufc).

Here it is - Petdam (red) vs. Suakim (blue)

This is a great thread regular john @regular john. Just thought I'd thank you for all of the information that you provide.
is there anyone reading this? to be honest I do it more for myself as I can't always watch the fights the day they come out so I save them here and watch when I can.

although it is a pet peeve of mine how muay thai is seen through such distorted eyes by westerners as most people think throwing a low kick and doing a double neck collar tie is synonymous of muay thai. I also remember back when I didn't follow that what got me interested was reading these weird thai names and some context about the fights so I take every chance I get to namedrop some elite thai fighter.

I can't keep with it all but yes, I browse it from time to time. I'm sure others do as well. I don't know shit about Muay Thai and combat sports in Thailand, so I find it interesting.

Amazing fight in the main event of tuesday's night at Lumpinee. Lumpinee Stadium 2016's Fighter of the year Muangthai gives knockout artist Kulabdam a taste of elite muay thai.

Kulabdam rose up through Channel 7 stadium scoring 7 KOs in a row but this was his first fight against someone of Muangthai's caliber. Round 4 was awesome and Lumpinee still allows Timo Ruge from Muay Ties to film and release full videos in HD (Raja Stadium doesn't anymore).

Damn, the dude with the blue gloves got fucked up early, he could barely walk to his corner. What a war.
Yeah they have a complicated balance there. They'll stop a fight if a fighter is eating strikes without proper defending even if he hasn't been nowhere close to being KOed but if someone gets KOed at the bell, dragged to his corner and wakes up then they'll allow the fight to go on. it helps that they have two minute breaks between rounds but it's not the safest system.

I found another video of the fight where you can see how Blue handled going into round two like that. it's such a shame that the Stadiums have these new restrictions though with Raja only allowing four minute videos with one minute from each round and Lumpinee allowing seven minute videos.

The guy in red - Kongthoranee - is the top prospect that I'm aware of in muay thai (he is at the top of this page scoring a beautiful elbow KO in his latest fight prior to this one) but he lacked killer instinct big time IMO. he kept throwing weak arm punches after the knockdown and late on his opponent was dead and still managed to drag him into a dogfight. he's also not that good in the clinch.
