Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez all have 11 HRs this season. Didi has 10. Gleyber has 4 in 24 games.

Well, as I was typing that Sanchez hit his 12th. Second of the night.
Has there ever been a team with (4) different 30+ HR guys?

Edit:
It's happened more times than I thought.
12 times.

AL
2000 Anaheim Angels - Garret Anderson, Troy Glaus, Tim Salmon, Mo Vaughn
2000 Toronto Blue Jays - Tony Batista, Jose Cruz, Carlos Delgado, Brad Fullmer
2006 Chicago White Sox - Joe Crede, Jermaine Dye, Paul Konerko, Jim Thome

NL
1977 LA Dodgers - Dusty Baker, Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Reggie Smith
1995 Rockies - Dante Bichette, Vinny Castilla, Andres Galarraga, Larry Walker
1996 Rockies - Bichette, Ellis Burks, Castilla, Galarraga
1997 Rockies - Burks, Castilla, Galarraga, Walker
1997 LA Dodgers - Eric Karros, Raul Mondesi, Mike Piazza, Todd Zeile
1998 Atlanta Braves - Andres Galarraga, Andruw Jones, Chipper Jones, Javy Lopez
1999 Rockies - Bichette, Castilla, Todd Helton, Walker
2004 Chicago Cubs - Moises Alou, Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Sammy Sosa
2009 Phillies - Ryan Howard, Raul Ibanez, Chase Utley, Jayson Werth

There have only been 3 teams that have had (3) different players that had 40 HR seasons the same year:

1973 Atlanta Braves - Hank Aaron, Darrell Evans, Davey Johnson
1996 Rockies - Ellis Burks, Vinny Castilla, Andres Galarraga
1997 Rockies - Vinny Castilla, Andres Galarraga, Larry Walker

So what you're saying is that it's super rare outside the thin air of Colorado and in the peak of the steroid era.

I love that they're keeping Torres batting 9th for now. It's giving Judge a great chance to drive in runs from the 2 spot.

Tyler Austin went yard twice. He has eight on the year. Andujar and Romine also went back to back in the Yankees 10-1 win over KC.

Austin is great insurance since Bird is made of glass. He'll end up being a hell of a player for someone after we trade him/let him go like Melky.

Judge hit his 12th of the season, Neil Walker hit a bomb into the upper deck, Hicks went yard, and Gleyber Torres hit two off of Bartolo Colon. A five HR night for the Yanks.

Fun fact: Torres was three months old when Colon made his major league debut.

Yankees win 10-5.

You guys see what the Tampa Bay Rays did this past weekend against the Angels?

On Saturday, they started their closer. The thought process was to have Sergio Romo - their RH closer - face the top of the Angels lineup which happens to be all RH hitters. He pitched the first inning and struck out the side (Cozart, Trout, Upton), then he was yanked in favor of LH pitcher Ryan Yarbrough who pitched the next 6 innings.

The thought process is that your main pitcher doesn't have to face their best hitters as many times. It's an interesting concept.

They started Romo again on Sunday. He went 1-1/3 innings and struck out 3.

That's so strange that they start with the closer and work backwards. Some teams have toyed with short starts and using lots of relievers to keep the looks down but this is that in reverse. Odd.

I don't know that starting your closer will be a thing, but I do think that the day of the starter going 7 or 8 innings will eventually end. Statistics favor batters when they face a pitcher for the 3rd time in a game. There are multiple reasons for that, but the two main factors : The batter is more familiar with the pitcher and the pitcher, generally speaking, is getting weaker as the game goes on. Bad combo for the pitcher.

I think baseball will eventually start to favor 3 inning slots where each time a batter comes up he's facing a new pitcher for that game.

And I've long been a proponent of using your "shutdown pitcher" anywhere in the game. I hate the thought process that you can only use that guy in the 9th. Bases loaded, nobody out in the 6th? Bring out the guy that can get out out of that shit. You aren't going to use him in the 9th if you are down 4 runs anyway.

It worked well for the Royals for a few years but now they are stuck with starters that can only go 5 innings and a bullpen that has moved on. Herrera, Davis and Holland was about as shut down as you can get in a bullpen.

2 trips through the lineup then turn it to the specialists in the pen, unless it's a great starter who's doing work.

& bring in the best reliever in the most high leverage situation in a game, it's honestly amazing how many managers are the drizzling shits

So on a team with Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez... The 9 hitter leads the team in slugging %. Torres is on fire lately and hit his 8th tonight. Judge, Walker, and Didi also went deep. It's only the 6th inning. Such a fun team to watch.

The Yankees are up 4-1 in the bottom of the 2nd. Gardner, Judge, and Romine have already hit homeruns.
