Pitchers and catchers report to camp today/tomorrow.

Full squad arrivals will be next week.

Games start next weekend.

I'm so ready for baseball. I'm not able to hit Spring Training like I did last year because of a work thing, but I'm working on a few road trips for the regular season.

Likely a Cubs game and a Rockies game.

I'd hit so many spring games if I lived in Florida.
My Arizona trip last year was unreal. I can't wait to do that again.

Like 10 parks within a 15 mile radius. Everyone at the bars and restaurants are baseball fans so automatically you know they are both cool and intelligent.

It is nice, but it flies by, blink and you may miss it

LET'S GO YANKEES!!!
We'll see if their plan to buy more offense with Juan Soto pans out. $277 million team payroll in 2023 and they ranked 5th worst in runs scored. Embarrassing.

They moving Judge to CF? As good as Soto is at the plate, he isn't great with the glove.

The Reds signed Jeimer Candelerio to a 3-year $45 million deal. I have no idea why. He's a 30-yr-old vet entering his 9th hear. Lifetime slash of .243/.325/.414 and he's never hit more than 22 dingers in a season. His walk to K ratio is fucking abysmal - which tells me he has very little patience at the plate.

He's a corner infielder and the Reds are already STACKED in the infield (Cruz, McClain, India, CES, Steer, Marte). My assumption is they'll move Steer to OF, but that still leaves them with 5 solid players to field 4 spots in the infield - so how do they justify this Candelerio signing?

It just doesn't make sense. Unless they are planning on dealing one of these young studs for pitching - which was definitely a weakness last year. But I'd hate to see any of them go and be left watching a pedestrian vet hit .250 and strikeout 25% of the time.

Baffling.

Dodgers and Braves are at the top for pre-season odds to win the World Series.

Dodgers +350
Braves +450

Astros are the top AL team at +800

Yankees (+1000) and Orioles (+1200) round out the Top 5.

Oakland and Colorado are tied for the longest shots at +40000

Red Sox will win it now that that little fucking baby is gone. I could never root down that guy when he pitched

“The universal concern,” MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said, “is the pants.”

After meeting with Chicago Cubs players on Thursday morning in Mesa, Ariz., Clark acknowledged, “It’s disappointing that we’ve landed in a place where the uniforms are a topic of discussion.” Even the negative feedback on the uniforms does not center around a single issue.

“Each conversation with the guys is yielding more information,” Clark said. “A lot of the rhetoric (Wednesday) was confirmation that it appears the pants are see-through.”

The Red Sux signed Giolito right before trading Sale to the ATL, but now Giolito is going to need Tommy John leaving the Sux with a hole in their rotation. They are going to have to go after Snell and/or Monty.
