I don't know what it is about this guy , he just sounds like a winner about to go all the way.

Yuri is almost 30. This is a pretty late start. He must be hard up for cash.

Phenomenal grappler, one of the world's best. As with any top BJJ star, striking is always the wildcard with their transition to MMA. I'd love to see ONE build him up out there.

It would be great to see an elite BJJ crossover spend their time focusing on becoming experts at takedowns instead of trying to become strikers overnight. Some striking basics (jab, footwork, head movement) are critical, but discipline specialists entering late to the MMA game have a much better shot at success if they learn the path to play to their strengths instead of trying to cram complex striking techniques in an effort to become well-rounded.

Good for him! Yuri was the main instructor when I used to go train at Caio Terra’s in San Jose. He’s a good dude and a teacher. Wish him all the best.

I think that knee injury was caused by Gary Tonon during EBI

A lot of the top tier BJJ guys (especially the ADCC competitors) work a lot on wrestling. Yuri has phenomenal takedowns... Let's see him develop that MMA takedown off of strikes timing.
