That could have easily been a civilian pilot.
That's an old light support/attack plane.
What a tragedy.
It looks like a mechanical failure to me.

When it comes down, before the crash, you'll see the aircraft pivot to the left.
Usually that's engine, aileron, or flap failure.
Mechanical in short.
Unless the guy had heart problems or blood flow problems, that maneuver was a low G maneuver and blackout would not come into play.

I see it now. Not sure why he would be moving his aileron at that point.

He must be familiar with the Hawk then, as both are BAE I believe.
Yes. In fact in the British military he would have learned to fly the hawk before he flew harrier. They use them as training planes. Think they even fly tucanos (prop plane) before they fly hawks
