How bout an arguement againt the points made in the vid?
How about you state what kind of argument you want to kickstart?
Because right now this thread is nothing more than "history about"-videos and lashing out at posters / raters.
Ironically not much different from Belobog @Belobog's contribution.

Also remember, not everybody consumes youtube like air.
Maybe some cliffs and notes?

Union men don't support doing unnecessary work but I'll give you a synopsis just the same

Over the last 40 years both parties have worked in tandem to facilitate the destruction of workers rights and the progressive gains made post FDR

They have accomplished this by the same old tactics they always use divide and conquer meaning divided economically which is why we have the greatest wealth inequality in the history of the country with no end in sight

Then they use the racial and cultural differences to facilitate the facade of differences when behind closed doors they all mostly agree on what matters the economics

Look no further than the recent cares act in which every person in Congress went along with...the greatest upward transfer of wealth in human history
Basically we have socialism for the rich and muh bootstraps for the working class

Neoliberalism is so cancerous because its illusory...they use the history of the democratic party being pro-worker when in fact they are not

Now can give me a refutation of my synopsis?

David Harvey’s book was one of my favorite reads when I caught it for the first time. I still remember several parts almost word by word. His narrative is very compelling - elite and upper classes put up with sharing the pie while the pie was getting bigger in the golden years 1945-1975 but once they felt threatened politically they developed a widespread power takeover and economic redistribution project.

it’s really interesting how they used the claims for social change of the late 1960’s cultural movements to gather support over seemingly undeniable concepts like freedom and individual liberty. But since neoliberalism completely failed to generate economic growth it turned into a big global resources redistribution process. CEOs and shareholders’ incomes was multiplied by the hundreds while working people’s wages stagnated. it was all planned and financed by individual conservative billionaires and corporate money that literally bought media and education institutions and launched a narrative onslaught on the population and turned the Republican Party into a well oiled neoconservative right wing machine (the Democratic Party played along in macroeconomics while pretending to support minorities - Bill Clinton and Obama are the posterboys of what Nancy Fraser calls “progressive neoliberalism” which is a cosmetic inclusive process that only enables the best and the brightest among minorities to access touted social spaces but doesn’t allow substantial structural change)

IMF and World Bank backed the US in this project and forced underdeveloped countries to tag along by forcing “structural adjustment”. The neoliberalization process is so flawed and contradictory that even supported by a ruling elite, barely anyone is still brave enough to stand for it with a straight face. Neoliberalism is literally one of the worst things to happen to mankind in the history of the world.

Why would you assume I want to refute anything.
Political phrases often have different meanings in your sphere and in mine, and since I usually don't click videos I wanted some info.
Also my post seemingly got this thread a little on track. I guess everyone can agree the wealth inequality is simply perverted.

I will read with interest.
