The date was February 7, 1997. Bill Clinton was in the oval office getting his dick sucked. Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart was #1 on the charts. I was just a 12 year old boy with some fresh slicked back hair looking like a young Lucky Luciano. I was walking the streets of Edison, NJ looking for a girl to give me a handjob. Unbeknownst to me, down in the little city of Dothan, Alabama, often referred to as the peanut capital of the world, a fighter would be making his first UFC appearance. This fighter would go on to win the heavyweight tournament that night at the age of 19. Little did we know that this man would go on to compete for the middleweight title 18 years later. His name is Vitor Belfort.

We are all witnesses.

The first mma fight I ever watched was UFC 12 on VHS tape I think around 2000 or 2001 so Vitor was one of the first fighters I became a fan of. He's prolly the only one who will trump my east coast homerism.

Priziesthorse @Priziesthorse , I know i have been a Weidman "fan" lately, so to speak, but I respect Vitor (and reluctantly, oh this is so difficult to admit), actually have a soft spot for him for being the man that helped get this sport off the ground..........I admit it, there you have it.........but, Raging Al's teammate is, how do they say it, "a friend" (not a real friend, for the love of all humanity, he wouldn't even acknowledge me in public - and I wouldn't blame him) and a friend of a friend is good enough for me. Raging Al is a favorite of mine and I have to go with a guy, in this fight, who is his teammate and I have disliked up until recent times but he is solid and fights. Anyone who brings the fight, is a champion and seems decent enough is good enough to warrant supporting....no offence to Vitor, the legend.
