Former UFC fighter Abel Trujillo is facing some serious trouble.

Trujillo, 36, was arrested by the Douglas County (Colo.) Sheriff’s Office on charges of sexual exploitation of a child and obscenity, which are both felonies. Inmate records show Trujillo is currently being held at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility with a bond set at $10,000 bond. He’s been jailed since June 16.

TSN was first to report the news Tuesday afternoon. According to TSN, Trujillo faces up to 18 months in prison and a maximum fine of $100,000 per charge, if convicted.

$10k bond means he only needs $1k to bond out, so why has been sitting in jail for a month? He that broke?

Regardless, this dude has some issues. Two prior domestic abuse charges, and now this.

Damn that's crazy. 18 months doesn't seem like that much time at all for the crime his accused of commiting...

It will be interesting to hear what he is actually alleged to have done. As Thuglife13 @Thuglife13 said, 18 months (maximum) doesn't sound like it's as awful as the charges.

Yeah Bruddah it says sexual exploitation of a child which makes you automatically think it should be years for punishment. I've read it's a class 6 felony in Colorado and this is what info I got about that type of crime...

Class 6 felonies are the least serious felonies in Colorado, punishable by one year to 18 months in prison and a fine of $1,000 to $100,000. (Colo. Rev. Stat. § 18-1.3-401.) Possession of up to two grams of methamphetamine is a class 6 felony.

He got a takedown or a reversal and top position on Khabib for a minute in that fight which is why I remember it - 'cause I thought "well, that doesn't happen very often".

But 18 months doesn't sound right? First crime?

You'd expect a civilian to get more - unless COlorado does thing um diffferentyl...?

Though the sensitive nature of the charges prohibit details from being released to the public, sexual exploitation of a child in the state of Colorado is defined as “possessing, producing or distributing sexually explicit material (pornography) involving a child under 18,” while an obscenity charge is defined as “the wholesale promotion of obscenity to a minor if, knowing its content and character, such person wholesale promotes to a minor or possesses with the intent to wholesale promote obscene materials to a minor.”

So this could be as simple as him giving a playboy magazine to his nephew (best case scenario)? Am I understanding that right?
