So was reading a poster talk about compatiblism and was going crazy

The semantics of "Free Will" as it is generally understood is illogical

free
/frē/
Learn to pronounce
adjective
  1. 1.
not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes.

So all things wether material or immaterial are subject to cause and effect

The word "Free" is no exception so just because you understand the word meaning doesnt make it logical

Free will is the ability to choose between different possible courses of action unimpeded. Free will is closely linked to the concepts of moral responsibility, praise, guilt, sin, and other judgements which apply only to actions that are freely chosen.

Because I agree with you. No one can escape causality. Agency doesn't posit whether you did something of your own volition, it just tries to understand to what degree you wanted something to happen based on the things that happen (in crude terms).
