Mexican authorities have detained so-called “affluenza” teen Ethan Couch and his mother near the popular Mexican Pacific beach resort town of Puerto Vallarta, officials briefed on the matter told CNN.

Couch went missing earlier this month, two years after he made national news when he was sentenced to probation for a drunken driving crash that killed four people.

Couch is expected to be turned over to U.S. Marshals, who have spent weeks searching for him.

He is wanted by authorities in Tarrant County, Texas, for allegedly violating probation. His mother was listed by Texas authorities as a missing person after her son’s disappearance, and the authorities said they believed she was assisting her son.

I'm glad to see that little bitch got caught. I wish in his case there were no extradition laws and he had to do time in a Mexican prison.

Killed 4 people, got off with probation due to some fuckery with rich family. Violated probation by drinking on camera like a dumbass, showing absolutely no remorse for the lives he took. Refuses to pay the piper and dips with family help again.

If I'm on the bench, I put him in big boy prison for the full decade for probation violation. Gen pop. He's a flight risk too due to his family and their resources so maximum security he would go.

If I was the attorney general I'd also look into the finances of this judge, and the circumstances that lead to his timely retirement.
And also through the parents in prison for aiding and abetting.
Then hang the kid in front of the court house.

Yeah that's pretty suspicious with the timing.

I mean, as stupid as it sounds, couldn't the defense attorney just use the same defense? It seems like letting him off easy the first time only re enforced his so called affluenza um, symptoms?

On the bench, my response would be, "Tough luck. Welcome to reality. "

well, yea. That should have been the initial sentence. All im suggesting, half kiddingly, is with the absurdity that was his initial sentence and the whole affluenza angle they pulled, is it really that big of a stretch to think they couldnt use the same defense?

They could. I hope no one buys into that bullshit other than the potentially bribed/ retired judge.
