Along with working to become the world’s top strawweight fighter, Tecia Torres is also working on her Masters. Find out what she wants to do once she hangs up her gloves for good.

In less than four years Tecia Torres has climbed the ranks of Invicta FC, collected signature wins over Paige VanZant, Rose Namajunas, and Felice Herig, endured The Ultimate Fighter house, and established herself in the upper echelons of the UFC’s evolving strawweight division. Good for her realizing that the Fight Career is a short one and it's very good to have options when she decides to call it quits. It's terrible when fighters have nothing else to fall back on. Some end up fighting past their prime in smaller promotions, taking beatings just to pay the bills. There is also no down side in going to college, getting a degree even if she becomes champion and has a long and profitable career fighting. Training the mind is just as important as the body. Whatever path she ends up doing, I wish her success.

The planning of doing an MMA career, getting a good Gov't job in her field AND finding a husband, getting married and having a child in the next four years is a little ambitious. Bet in two to three years she changes that goal from age 30 to 35.

Her criminology degree seems more usefull than the psychology and sociology degrees most wrestlers get in mma. Rich franklin and shane carwin are the only guys with math based degrees.
