The 31-year-old light heavyweight contender did not mention the details of his contract, but manager Nima Safapour told MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani that it’s the best deal yet for Gustafsson.

“What I can tell you is this is the most lucrative deal of Alex’s career,” Safapour said. “And one of the best deals in the space. Both the UFC and Alex are happy. It is a good deal for everyone.

Hope he is healthy and confident. His talks of retirement not that long ago were a little worrying, he implied he didnt want to get punched much anymore.

Still the only true challenger at the top of LHW IMO outside of Jones and DC and Jones doesnt count yet.

Yes, I don't know why, usually I don't listen to that guy, but Chael said somewhere that he was at one point the highest paid athlete in the UFC and I instantly thought "I'm 100% sure by his lying ways that by 'at one point' he must mean the exact second when the money arrived in his bank account"
