When I did Hoods in the Woods (Freaks on Peaks, Thugs with Lugs) I had a few Latin Kings come through the program.

Had one that I made the mistake of getting invested in. Dude was smart, charismatic, a natural leader. I put alot of hours into trying to get him to unfuck his perspective.

Last time I saw him he was in shackles after we did the literal manhunt through the woods to catch him when he ran.
Full on, right down to him fighting until he couldn't anymore.

He was 20 and was looking at 15 because he failed our diversion program. Plus the charges he got that day.

He was the last straw for me in the Youth rehabilitation world.

Can't help most people. Just can't.

Growing up in a gang infested county I always thought being in a gang was a retarded way to be a criminal if one chose the criminal lifestyle. What happens immediately is that cops put you in a gang file at like age 10-12 and your identity is known to cops and the FBI as a criminal. Being in a gang is basically snitching on yourself. It is also retarded to be a criminal if you served in the military because they have all your dna and anything to identify you during a crime.

Latin kings are not mexicans they are usually Dominicans,puerto ricans, Venezuelans. Mexicans actually do not like latin kings. Usually you only find them in Chicago or NYC because theose areas have a lot of Puerto ricans.

When we lived outside Philly all the LK were Puerto Rican, even the 16 year old kids working for me in the restaurant, they would be throwing signs to each other when they clocked out for the night, I told them to knock that shit off at work. They were like yo, Cornhole is 5.0, no I'm just not a blindless idiot. I always wonder what happened to miguel, he was smart, hard worker, etc. I hope he didn't get caught up in that life.
