Glad to see him go out healthy and not injured. Lets hope he can keep himself busy and not try to return

If he retired at the right time he would probably go down as the #2 best HW ever. Took unnecessary punishment and added too manys L's to his record.

At least the UFC are keeping him around and giving him a job. He can still be a part of the mma world and still feed his family

I loved Nog when he was in Pride 10 years ago where he was getting physically smashed by guys, yet he never would get KO'd and he'd always find a way to finish with a sub. His win over Tim Sylvia to win a title in the UFC (even if it was an interim belt) was satisfying.

Good to see him retire while healthy. He took a lot of bombs. How many times in pride was he knocked out for a few seconds only to come back and win. I was hoping he would have retired a few fights back.

Thank God. It sucks seeing a legend like that take extra punishment. That Roy KO sealed it for me the way he went down....damn.

I think I echo everyone here who says that it's about time! I'm actually quite happy to know we won't see such an admirable warrior take any more unnecessary damage. I think his heart made it very difficult to retire on his own. He's done enough to be remembered for as long as this sport is remembered.

I was sad to see this headline.
He had more left in him.
Not much more, but a bit.
His last fight was proof, and I wanted to see him go out with a W.
