Neighbor and I noticed we had about 6 kittens, mom and dad living under his shed.

We have been feeding them, but it is starting to attract skunks.

Haven't seen dad around in a week and 4 of the kittens have disappeared.

This is mom in the front, she is very easy to handle. The kittens on the other hand are skittish as hell, this is the closest I have been able to get to them by setting the food in front of me. As soon as I lean over to snag one the two kittens bolt.

I have good homes lined up for all three so they don't get taken out by whatever has taken out the others. I have a xlarge have a heart trap which I don't think they will set off so all three can get in there to hit the bait. Going to set that up tomorrow to try, any other suggestions if that doesn't work.

That's what I got, just hope I get all two in there, oh, and not catch a skunk.
It wont surprise me if you catch the skunk first. Take that cocksucker far away, and then try for the kittens.

When it's feeding time, you go find a nice patch of grass, sit down in the grass, relax..breathe in..smile ....

Left hand has a handful of food, with your right hand take a couple and show the mom and kittens what you have....

now that they see it, start making the gentle pssssst - pssssst - pssssst sound....

then toss one or two close to their location, once they get that one....

toss one a little closer ...repeat until they feel comfortable feeding out of your hand. Now gently pet those pussys!

*This method also works in the fall using acorns with squirrels.

Your gonna need a long string, a stick, and a cardboard box.
I was literally thinking of doing that and record it for laughs.

I just took them out some cooked chicken, one of the missing kittens showed up. I need a bigger box.

It will end up in our pond, bastards have sprayed my dogs 4 times in the last three years, I have an ongoing battle with them.

Almost

So I took my have a heart and used a strong spring clamp to keep the gate open

I set it behind my tractor where they are hanging out and set some food in it, cats were checking it out but wouldn't go in.

So I set mom into the end and stood back, she ran out but the kittens followed her in.

They are a little skittish when I move to pull the spring clamp to trap them and ran out but they came back. Going to keep slowly work on getting them used to it over the next couple days.
