I think I am going to quit pills this week on my days off. Noticed today I needed one to not be half asleep so that isn't good. Whenever I feel that I take a week or 2 off so the withdrawals don't get out of hand.
anyone else have a pill problem or cigarettes or shooting fentanyl?

No
but I have seen them additions up close

Not sure what pills you use, and not a doctor so can't really give input.

Ever consider Kratom to help get off of them? But then again I don't know jack about Kratom either.

I have seen more addiction than most ppl. Been around meth addicts, heroin, ppl shooting fentanyl, speedballing coke and dope, crack, been around some serious drug dealers and involved helping them w stuff, etc
Everyone who ends up on heroin has almost the exact same story. Started out on pills, then caught filling multiple scrips or Dr shopping and pills cut off then go to heroin. So I keep an eye on my Vicodin that I don't get out of hand

No kratom I just go cold turkey. Don't mind pain. My days off I'll have restless leg, body pain, fever or cold and misery. But it be gone in 2-3 days. I'll go to gym twice a day prolly. And stuff my fat face

You got any advice or kind words for addicts that want to, or are in process of quitting?
You need some sort of support group.

when I was sobering up I made a thread here and the outpouring of love and support was immense.

everyday will be hard and some will seem impossible. Take it one minute of one day at a time.

And change your routine, find new ways to fill your time. Everything you do now you associate with your current bad habits.

there’s other people here who can speak more eloquently and inspirationally on the topic.

My g/f let me drink on Saturday though. I still got it. 18 beers and a 26 of vodka.

damn homie.
I can drink a bit but that is out of my league, if you did/do indeed binge like that.

I smoke cannabis and drink some vodka myself...but I go days without either and don't have any withdrawal effects...not that that makes the habits healthy or a good part of my life.

I agree it can become part of your "routine" and you need to switch up the routine and replace the "bad" behavior/habits with something else completely.

I don't know anything about opiate pills, not sure how that works or what it feels like.

Happy Belated Birthday Bro, I didn't see a thread here...maybe you have a different birthday on profile like I do

I would have to say excellence. I wake up morning and piss it, so I expect it from others.
Still I know it can make things more stressful then they need to be.

For instance, this past weekend I had my wife wash and detail my car.
She did an amazing job EXCEPT she forgot to apply the leather conditioner, and it's not the first time.
I started to get on her case, then I saw how upset she was getting. So I asked myself is it really that important?
So I took a breath, hugged her, and thanked her for her hard work, and told her she could do the conditioner the next day.
Felt pretty good.

Used to be cigarettes. Today's the first day I've really wanted one in ages but that involves potentially seeing chatty neighbours, and I'm really not in a chatty mood.

I drink.. Way too much. It’s everyday. Smashed. I woke up this morning. Monday! At 9. Rolled over to the wife and asked how we got home. That’s bad!

Benzo withdrawal is bad. I have seen alcoholics who have to wake up And start drinking but never someone trying to quit. I imagine it is very hard

Yeah I got one of the lamest ones.

I'm a gambling addict
Lived with one for 3 years, I had to leave him in the end. It was so bad he would be stood at a fruit machine for so long his evening bar job would be phoning me to ask where the fuck he was. I suspect that while any addiction isn't a good one, you can probably afford it.

We couldn't really, he was an insurance broker and I sold toner cartridges...all came to a head when I found a bunch of mortgage non payment letters he'd been hiding.

I keep reading people saying this and how you can die from it. I have never experienced any withdrawals. I took it for three years 3mg per day and then just quit and felt nothing. When I quit opioids the first week was pure hell
I know a girl who has a real bad benzo addiction rn. She is a mess when she can't find any. Then again females in my experience sign handle withdrawals as well as men.

I agree about opiates. This week is gona be misery. But life is misery a lot of the time.

Yeah it never really goes. I have a bit of a lid on it now.

The other night I dropped £50 in a fruity because I was bored. I was 50 odd quid up at one point. Just kept going though.

Most days are fine but I have to be so careful. Especially now I have a family.

All addictions are basically the same and you have to want to get off them. And believe it or not gambling can even have a physical effect too. Once you accept you really want to give up its the first step to relief.

But the itch never ever goes away completely.

Thanks Obama.

It's tough. But you will do it.

I have been in A.A for like a year had 2 relapses which is actually not a lot in the alcoholic world.

I quit drinking after an almost 24/7-5 day bender at my local dive bar and other bars.

I also quit when I read the story of how much slash from guns and roses drank and I realized I drank the exact same amount he was also 35 when his heart failed and I was only a few years younger than that.

my withdrawal after that 5 day bender was so bad that I saw blurry for two days and couldn't sleep or eat I also had the worst Anxiety and fear I had ever had in my life for two days.
