Internet goes down often where I'm at. It's usually squirrels chewing through the ethernet cable. At least that's what the provider tells me.
They've repaired the line to my house in 4 different places. It would also be very easy for someone to cut the line to my house, which would disable my security cameras. Not something I'm cool with given how remote I am.

So I just ordered Starlink to give it a go. I had to purchase the hardware, but the actual monthly charge is less than my current provider.

I'm happy to be the guinea pig on this product, but would like to know if anyone else has gone this route just in case I have some questions during setup.

I have a Starlink Mini that I use when we are out in the woods training for search and rescue or on actual searches so we have an easy way to update maps and share information with command. It works really well. It takes about 5 mins to get connected with a satellite and start communicating, and we get download speeds of 150mbs and up even though we just face it north (no position optimization like you would do for a permanent home unit.
I run it off a power supply that will run it for 4-5 hours, and if we anticipate needing it longer than that I will fire up the generator.

I have it at our cabin, speeds are good, when we first signed up it was 90 a month because we are in a low usage area, went up to 120 because more people have been signing up. We have been happy with it.

I have Starlink and FIOS. Both are great services. Wife and I both work from home so we write both connections off.

Starlink I have set up through an UPS device and the home security cameras are meshed into that network, which is nice.

The Belarusian army will receive a Starlink analogue developed in the republic by December.

This was announced on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel by the head of communications of the country's Armed Forces Vadim Romaniv.

According to him, in 2023, the country's president Alexander Lukashenko was presented with a mobile communications kit, which, as Romaniv noted, is an analogue of Starlink.

“This year, we ultimately refined this kit almost to perfection and improved its quality, the number of services provided,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

He stressed that the army will receive a mobile communications kit in December.

Yup, got it and it was a game changer. I let my neighbour nerf off me as well and then he got his own. If you live in the country, it’s a must have!
