Anyone familiar with Wim Hof? I just heard about Wim Hof on that other forum. No sound at work & haven't seen the videos myself, but apparently he helped train Overeem. Was thinking about posting him on the S&C Forum, os if a mod thinks that's a better place for this thread, please feel free to move it (& my apologies in advance, Mods).

I don't know much about him to be honest. I watched some of his Joe Rogan appearance, and I kind of got the feeling like when Rogan was really probing him to explain his methods, he was kind of evasive, gave vague answers and sort of danced around and gave overly complicated explanations. That kind of stuff always sets off my bullshit meter, but maybe he sells this shit for a steep price and didn't want to give it away for free.

Either way, I think his physical feats are nothing short of astounding. As a Canadian, we learn to embrace the cold, but nothing like what he does lol

Well, if he proves his methods by swimming under the ice, and climbing a mountain on his shorts, he is sure willing to back it up. The man faced decades of ridicule by the science community until research started turning up in favor of the Ice Man. He is risking his life showing about his methods.

Evidence or not, very impressive indeed. I am always hopeful in learning to better ourselves without the needs or supplement to traditional medication. One thing we do know, we do know meditation and breathing patterns have profound effect on the human body and psyche. As long as he is willing to put himself on the forefront of his research, I am willing to be hopefully optimistic about his findings. There's people that think Yoga is bullshit, or Tai Chi is a scam, but again; there's plenty of scientific evidence dismissing such claims.
