Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (25-11-1) appeared in a video-interview for Russian website BloodandSweat.ru, where he opened up on many things in his natural outspoken manner. This is the first part of his interview.

The rematch with Fedor Emelianenko is something that Andrei wants badly. He is ready to ask the UFC about letting him fight outside the promotion, only if Fedor is willing to fight him. Still, Andrei is very skeptical about Fedor's first fight with Jaideep Singh at Rizin FF.

"About Fedor's fight in Rizin FF - he fought some Indian movies actor!" said Arlovski. "If he only came to the UFC and competed with everyone else around. I heard he wanted to have the immediate title fight with Werdum. I wish he'd made 1-2 fights here [before having the title shot], but no. You see, Fedor is still a national hero in Russia. Therefore everything I say here will be perceived negatively. So Andrei Arlovski won't become more popular in Russia after these words".

When he was asked what would happen if Fedor offered him a rematch, Andrei was positively certain. He even promised to share 10% of his fight purse with anyone who would help to arrange his rematch with Emelianenko.

"Sure! If you can do that, I'll pay you 10% if this fight happens," assured Andrei. "We can discuss any conditions, but the only crucial points [of negotiation] for me are: accommodation, food and fly-over for me and my team. I think I can even persuade the UFC to let me fight outside the organization once."

Travis Browne had Andre on queer street. I would take Fedor again in this fight.

Fedor may beat AA in a rematch. Hell, he may be able to beat anyone in the world on any given day, but I don't think he will ever fight in the UFC. At this point in his life/career I doubt he has the desire and drive needed to be an active fighter for any sustained period of time. If he were to come to the UFC and fight for the belt- they would expect him to defend the belt. He can't have more than a few more fights left in him. I expect him to end his career with big pay days, crushing cans in Japan.

Arlovski would still lose. Fedor did a 2 week camp, hung out in NY 2 timezones away 2 days before the fight and still KTFO AA. Arlovski is still the same dude who got killed by Brett Rogers. He does nothing differently now.

This fight will be the purple elephant in the parade of fantasy fights. Fedor isnt coming to the UFC and Zuffa isnt gonna relinquish any power and allow fighting outside the UFC.......que Aerosmith's Dream On!

Fedor is a mystery these days. We don't know if he can still hang with top 10 HWs. Arlovski has shown he still can.

arlovski beats both guys right now as long as he fights smart, which under greg jackson, he tends to do. Miocic is just that good that's why he caught arlovski.

Fedor has already shown that he cannot beat the best or even a tier lower than the best, back in 2011. And that's okay. He already was the #1 heavyweight back in 2005. But he hasn't done anything since 2009 to show that he can hang with the best fighters.

Which is exactly what was said about AA before his run the last couple years. I don't know if Fedor can beat all the top 10 in the UFC but I think he definitely uses his speed and crushes AA's jaw again.

But since 2011, arlovski went 11-2 with a couple losses to top contenders johnson and miocic, who are both going to fight for the title soon. He has also joined Jackson's and trained with the best like jon jones to improve all around.

Fedor hasn't done that since 2011, to put it nicely. If fedor is about to go on a big run like arlovski, then I'll be really surprised.

And I dont think it was fedor's speed that crushed arlovski in the first place. It was his excellent timing along with arlovski's risky move. Before that flying knee, nothing in the fight showed that fedor actually had a speed advantage. I think arlovski has improved enough with the right camp to where both factors wont play a role if they fought today.

Possibly but usually speed is the first thing to go for older fighters. If Fedor would just fight some decent HWs again we would have a clearer picture.

Probably exactly how it would play out. I think Andre's a bit delusional thinking Zuffa would ever agree to that. Pay them 10% of your purse? Dana and Lorenzo wipe their asses with that.

Fedor would beat him again.
Of course Arlovski wants another shot, and good payday.
I'd concentrate on Overeem right now, just surviving that encounter would be a feat.
