I have a lot of respect for both of those guys, for very different reasons.

Haha I don't really like Phil and what he represents in MMA
but that was hella cool.
Really? I’ve never watched wrestling but I like Phil a lot. He was willing to go to the amateur circuit but was given a huge opportunity and worked his ass off to be the best he could.

There aren’t many multimillionaires that would give up their life up to train and potentially embarrass the fuck out of themselves to pursue their dream. I respect the fuck out of him for doing it.

He could be relaxing on a beach with his insanely hot wife and doing fuck all but instead he goes to work everyday in the gym and gets beat the fuck up by pro athletes.

Dude has balls for days.

Perhaps I could have been more clear. I have zero problems
with Phil as a person and I also admire his work ethic.

What I don't like is what he represents in MMA... That just cuz you
can draw a crowd you can come to the NBA of the MMA League and
immediately be given a spot on the roster.

Askren is so cool. Deep down I still hope the UFC shocks me with GSP vs Askren. It won’t happen but I still hope.

When GSP was at his peak I would’ve loved to have watched that fight but now it just wouldn’t be the same.

Agreed.

The UFC and other organizations have done more than enough to make the sport a circus. Phil isn't harming it in any significant way.

Hes just doing what he wants as respectfully as we should expect from anyone. Never seen him wrestle but his MMA interviews make him seem like a genuinely decent guy that wants to test himself.

Good on him imo
