His face creeps me outI'm pretty good at accents over here but that is not the posh in used to and I can't really tell, she might have come from a non posh background and had to bring her accent up to a posh acceptability but not inherently posh, if that makes sense

I get what you mean. Maybe she went to a fancy school and adjusted her accent.I'm pretty good at accents over here but that is not the posh in used to and I can't really tell, she might have come from a non posh background and had to bring her accent up to a posh acceptability but not inherently posh, if that makes sense

Thanks. I couldn't even begin to guess region. Interesting. That's a posh London accent!
Any rich girl who is privately educated in London talks exactly like that.
No probs! Thanks. I couldn't even begin to guess region. Interesting.
England has so many cool accents. I get a kick out of hearing them. Scotland and Wales also have some fun distinct accents. No probs!
I'm from London so I recognised it straight away.
It's amazing how much a school affects your accent in this city. You can live in the same area but go to a different school from your neighbour who lives near by. However they can have a completely different accent even though you both grew up in the exact same area.
This is true. The drunker I get the more cockney I sound, or so I've been told. The more well spoken you are, the less pronounced your regional accent.
same man, either when i'm around family or when drunk, my west country accent becomes stronger. Can take the kid out the country but can never take the country out of the kid. This is true. The drunker I get the more cockney I sound, or so I've been told.
Funny, I used to think the same until I got over here.......strongest variances are:All Brits sound the same to me. I wasn't aware that there was varying degrees of an accent.
I learned most of the accents from watching X Factor, lol. Cheryl Cole was the 1st Geordie I'd heard. And Rebecca Furguson was the first Souser.Funny, I used to think the same until I got over here.......strongest variances are:
Geordie
Scouse
Scottish
Brummie
Cockney
West Country
IMO
Forgot about Leeds/Yorkshire which is sad as I work for a company up there. Manchester I never really can tell the differenceI learned most of the accents from watching X Factor, lol. Cheryl Cole was the 1st Geordie I'd heard. And Rebecca Furguson was the first Souser.
Welsh from Eve Myles in Torchwood (and Tom Jones).
Leeds - Scary Spice.
Manchester - Bisping.
This is one is ridiculous though...
It's the L's that give away the Manchester accent for me. Like how they say "life". The L seems really soft and buttery to me.Forgot about Leeds/Yorkshire which is sad as I work for a company up there. Manchester I never really can tell the difference
