The doctor gives the diagnosis, writes the prescription and forms the plan of care but it's the nurse's job to go in and educate the patient on all of those.

Tell her to stop being lazy.

This is a great concept. But it can't be laid at the doctor's feet. It's the culture now. Most people don't want to hear what they can do to actually fix the problem. They are there for the magic pill for the symptoms.

If they wanted holistic cures they would have googled them and tried them.

And if you are interested in other ways to manage the problem without pills then tell your doctor that. I have a couple of times and got great feedback on things to try. They won't get mad at you for asking, I promise.

The internet is a powerful tool. I once thought I had stomach cancer and left work to go see a doctor after self diagnosing. Or arse cancer. Something bad. Turns out I just had a bad arse and had too much pepto bizmol trying to fix it.

It's not pink if you have too much of it.
