UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will hang up his gloves on March 20, 2019 – or so is the plan for right now.

Cormier (20-1 MMA, 9-1 UFC) has set a hard date for walking away from the sport. But what happens after that? Will he coach? Take on another job? Live a life of leisure?

As it turns out, Cormier already has plenty of irons in the fire. He’s a partner in a pair of restaurants. He owns two barbershops in Southern California, and two wrestling schools in Northern California.

“I’ve done a good job of trying to diversify myself,” he told MMAjunkie Radio. “We’ve got a lot of different things going that will hopefully help us maintain life after fighting is done.”

It seems to me just owning a Popeye's franchise would do the trick, which would be pretty cool I think.
I have a friend who is a talented chef. Has been on food network a few times.

He fucking loves Popeyes, with Cajun sprinkle.

Blows my mind that he'd rather go there then do what he does best.

I had Popeyes for the first time in my 40 year existence a few months ago and couldn’t fucking believe how good it was.

That's the way to go. Instant name recognition, financial backing, people who have been with company for years to guide you - all things you lack if you start on your own.

Edit: Just ask Hendricks.

Jones Nose Hairlinez would be the 2nd best hair salon or barbershop name ever.

As a former line cook that took his job seriously I always enjoyed someone else cooking my meal( especially if it's tasty).

Game recognize game.

Years ago he was backstage at TNA wrestling and considering professional wrestling as a career path after amateur wrestling, but this was before The Ultimate Fighter and UFC booming. He's not got the look that WWE typically want, and it's not likely he'd be interested in it now, but I do think he'd be able to transition to pro wrestling if he wanted to.

But again, doubt he'll consider that as it sounds like he's been smart with his money and has been thinking long term. Good on him.

He’s a huge pro wrestling fan so I wouldn’t doubt him making an appearance or two at some point.

Cormier and Barnett are both guys I'd be making offers to when they're retired from MMA, if I was in charge of WWE. (Sonnen a few years ago too.)"

Don’t think Barnett has enough name value for Vince to consider him. Agree on DC and Chael though. Ronda too...which is apparently happening.

The advantage Barnett has is that he's already a Pro Wrestler.

Is Popeyes good? Fast food fried chicken, like KFC?

There is a brand new one being built a half a block from my office. Never been to one before, but I likely will soon i suppose.

Sonnen was balls deep in negotiations. Then he said "Vince McMahon! You absolutely suck."
