I play once a week, and it is not a highly competitive game but certain toes on my right foot feel numb and sometimes get a jolt of pain for no reason. I'm choosing to blame my crappy footwear. Newish, but garbage.

I do not want to spend a crazy amount, nor buy any gimmicky crap.

Go to Footlocker and tell them exactly what you said in this thread. You have shoe questions, ask a shoe salesman. Ya know? Just tryna help

And 1 makes an affordable bball shoe.
Don't buy them online. Go to an outlet mall or regular mall.
I've found that Nike outlet stores have good deals.

My father did all through college and rec league

How long ago was that? There was a time where the Chuck was the only Bball specific shoe availabe. If it was then that would make sense. I played my first city league at around 6 (1986) and played all through high school. Never once saw a pair of Chuck Taylors. Im not saying it cant be done but the risk is way to high. Do you wear them? The price of Chucks has gone up from the 19.99 i remember as a kid, maybe even 14.99 but now they cost more than $50 in the mall. It doesnt cost much more than your next deductable at the hospital (broken ankle) to get a proper fit shoe that will give you support.

check it

kids need ninja shit too

Chucks are good if you're playing basketball at a hipster bar with your craft beer

^^^^^This was a dumb ass recommendation this dude has obviously never played any sports or had to play a sport in chucks. The chuck might be the worst shoe or all time. It isn't even a good gangster shoe the cortez had way better craftmanship and comfort it was a better basketball shoe even. i would wear payless shoes for 17 bucks before a chuck.those 9.99 walmart shoes are better.

What a random thread to have bumped up 7-years later.

I ended up wearing various crapass shoes for another four years then got these.

…and then Covid shut everything down and the casual bball ended.

I remember getting them exactly on 26-Jan-20 because I saw the news report about Kobe Bryant’s death when I was at the Nike store.

I also remember seeing a news report about a new mysterious flu-like disease spreading in China while on that same trip to the mall.

I’ve only worn these shoes a handful of times.
