Pitbull vs. Weichel in St. Louis! - Bellator MMA
Georgi Karakhanyan has been waiting four years to get his revenge on Patricio "Pitbull" Freire in Bellator. Unfortunately, due to a knee injury in training, he's going to have to wait just a little bit longer.
Ever since he left World Series of Fighting (WSOF) and made his return to Bellator, Georgi Karakhanyan has been a man on a mission. He beat the streaking featherweight sensation Bubba Jenkins and seemed poised to battle Patricio "Pitbull" Freire in a rematch at Bellator 138: "Unfinished Business."
That chance for redemption, and his Bellator featherweight title aspirations, however, will have to be put on hold. Bellator MMA announced on Tuesday that Karakhanyan has been sidelined by a knee injury (ACL) suffered in training for his title fight against Freire.
Stepping in to take Karakhanyan's place at Bellator's upcoming supercard will be Daniel "The Weasel" Weichel from Germany. He's 35-8 in his pro career at only 30 years old and is undefeated in Bellator, including his most recent victory over former champion Pat Curran via close split decision.
