Bellator MMA is re-entering the kickboxing game, and this time it is taking matters into its own hands. Bellator president Scott Coker announced Thursday the launch of Bellator Kickboxing, a kickboxing entity that will work hand-in-hand with Spike TV and Viacom, essentially filling the role GLORY once held at the network.

Bellator Kickboxing debuts April 16 in Torino, Italy with a co-promoted Oktagon Kickboxing show that sees MMA and kickboxing veteran Melvin Manhoef take on Alexandru Negrea in the main event. Mustapha Haida challenges Karim Ghajii in a five-round 75kg (165 pounds) title fight in the co-headlining bout.

Veteran kickboxers Raymond Daniels, Kevin Ross, and Denise Kielholtz are also expected to compete on the card, which airs on Spike TV following the conclusion of Bellator 152.

Coker said he jumped at the opportunity to start his own promotion once the relationship between Spike TV and GLORY disbanded in 2015.

Don't know a lot about Oktagon Kickboxing. Anyone care to shed some light on the promotion? Hopefully this produces some great kickboxing matches that would otherwise go unnoticed in North America!

Just beat me to it RVD. Will air on a Spike TV. Cool idea to me. Guess we know why Glory moved on now.

I'll update details here as they come out. Remote right now, waiting on my kid.

I think John Wayne Parr was on one, I believe its Lion Fights? Seemed pretty cool, that had muay thai rules with 4oz gloves and cage.

Thought Lion Fights was it's own thing? There's too many to keep track lmfao. If JWP was fighting there though, it must be a great org!!!

You're correct, JWP was fighting in Lion Fights and that's just regular MT, Caged Muay Thai (CMT) is what I was thinking..iirc he fought there too.

Edit: GSPTrainingInAPool @Rjpartner, CMT is JWP's organisation :)

This is the kind of service you get at TMMAC boys and girls. Especially when I'm sitting in a parking lot, waiting on kids.
