
Former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler gave his thoughts on Bellator's decision to release lightweight champ Will Brooks, and it sounds like he's not too broken up about it.
The Bellator lightweight division has had trouble finding consistency. From 2009 to 2013 it was ruled over by Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler. Alvarez became champion twice, winning the belt back in the second half of a fantastic two fight series with Chandler, and then (after a protracted legal dispute) he left. Alvarez took off for the UFC and left a vacant title in his wake. And that's when the trouble really started for Chandler.
