Here's my take on RVD. I've been aware of him for almost 10 years(I think) on the UG though I've never met or really interacted with him much except in an occasional thread there. No patience for trolls and shills as I Wild Each It said, it can come across as too abrasive or course for many on the UG, but sometimes a spade needs to be called a spade. If you look deeper than these occasional posts on the ug, what you'll find is a guy who will be the first to offer a place to stay for a forum member who is down and out, or a guy who will make the trip from BFE(Wyoming I think) to Vegas to corner guys who signed up to fight in the UGGP, or the whole Secret Santa deal. RVD is misunderstood, especially on the UG. He has lots of hate and I can see the mis-reading of other members to him. RVD is a super loyal guy as someone said on page 1. That's a GREAT quality to have. RVD can often times state a differing opinion and how he expresses it can come off "snooty", but that's just his way, he's not attacking he's just kind of sarcastic/asshole-ish, but not in a mean way.
I'm not afraid to give him a snooty comment and vice versa. End of the day, he's a hardcore mma fan whose heart is 99% in the right place. He brings a lot more in contributions than he takes away.
