Hey guys, I wanted to give you an update on my training and some big news that started yesterday. So yesterday my fight with Martin Vergara got confirmed and officially announced for the WCFL Middleweight Title on May 9th. This is great news, we have a great game plan for Martin and a lot of you guys pointed out some of his tendencies that really opened up my eyes.
Sunday I got a call from my instructor's instructor about joining him at his new academy which is specifically for High Level competitors and fighters. My instructor was gracious enough to agree to let me attend both academies and this helped us avoid a bunch of issues. At the new academy my new head instructor is assembling a team of coaches to help make us well rounded competitors. We have a former college wrestler from Ohio State teaching us wrestling, he is also a BJJ black belt world champion. We have a 6th degree Judoka who is a State Champion helping with our Judo. Bill the chief instructor is a former wrestler, vale tudo fighter, boxer (from Roy Jones Jr. gym) and active competitor. He's fought in Japan, Brazil, Bahamas, all around the world. I'm now training 13 times a week including my striking with Master Jack who is still my head coach and gameplanner.
I'm pumped for this change, and wanted to tell you guys all about it. I'll get on tonight for a while, sorry I've been absent I was helping my step-dad move his office this weekend and I've trained twice today already with one more to go tonight!
BTW so pumped to hear Justin is for sure returning to fighting this year.
