B.J. Penn vs. Dennis Siver slated for UFC 199 in Los Angeles UFC Hall of Famer B.J. Penn (16-10-2 MMA, 12-9-2 UFC) will return from a two-year layoff to fight fellow featherweight Dennis Siver (22-11 MMA, 11-8 UFC) at UFC 199.

Yahoo! Sports first reported the matchup.

UFC 199 takes place June 4 at The Forum in Los Angeles. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass, though the bout order hasn’t been finalized.

Penn, whose return was delayed by a third-party investigation following recent allegations from a former employee, most recently fought in July 2014, when he suffered a third loss to Frankie Edgar. It marked Penn’s featherweight debut, but he had little to offer Edgar in the new weight class, and he was thoroughly beaten during a third-round TKO loss. It pushed his winless streak to four and marked his sixth unsuccessful trip to the octagon in seven tries.

Penn, who will be remembered as one of the best and most important lighter-weight fighters in MMA history, retired from the sport afterward, citing his inability to compete at the top level any longer. However, he’s now back for at least one more bout.

Siver, meanwhile, recently suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Tatsuya Kawajiri and is now just 1-3 (with one no-contest/overturned win due to a failed drug test) in his past five fights. Before the recent skid, the 37-year-old Russian-German fighter was on a 6-1 run that included his move from lightweight down to featherweight.

Damn, im a huge Penn fan have been since he had hair in the octagon. With that said, Siver wins if BJ is in the same shape he was vs Frankie. Siver isnt a world beater but he's tough and has good kicks. I hope Penn wins and retires or fights another aging fighter.

And off topic, didnt BJ's brother sign with bellator or was that Machidas, and what happened with that?

Can Siver come up with a final solution to permanently retire BJ?

Is Silver the gatekeeper or sacrificial lamb of 145?
Maybe a bit of both, he underperformed vs Kawajiri tho I think.

But Siver only loses to legit guys, this fight makes a lot of sense to see where BJ stands.
