General Blisters, to pop or not, that is the question

Got a pretty gnarly steam burn on my hand last night with blistering. You always hear don't pop it, it's nature band aid, it will get infected.

Fuck that, the pressure is what causes the pain, I just poke, drain, push the skin down to seal and wrap with a bandaid.

What side are you on, pop or not.

I think you're right because it is going to pop eventually, but not in a controlled way where it can be cleanly covered. I just wouldn't pop it too soon.

Needle, at the edge not in the center, proximal (closer to the core of your body vs extremities).
You can loosely tape the skin in place but leave the drain hole open.

Let it go for a couple days if you can take it, good stuff is going on in there.
But reality is reality and it'll just get torn open anyway at some point.

Only reason for proximal is that it puts the open wound a little farther away from the gross stuff you touch all day.

In basic popping foot blisters was standard. Pop with a pin, drain, add a bit polysporin, then 2nd skin, cover with a plastic band aid.

Repeat the next day.

Doesn't even hurt, I was surprised when I took my boot off last night.
Definitely broken though, can feel the clickity click when I fuck with it.

I've broken lots of toes over the years.
Middle one is the best one. Not mission critical and the other piggies pick up the slack.
Seriously, hurts about as much as a minor hangnail..

As a guide I used duct tape. Trick is no wrinkles/folds, makes it smooth and glide in your boot so way less irritation.

As a test I left one blister unpopped, woke up this morning to a raw wound where the blister was. Popping for life yo!
