I just read that his son just won a fight, and is now 15 and 0 with like 14 KOs.

Anyone seen him fight? Is he any good? Man, I always HATED Vargas. I was so glad when De La Hoya beat his ass. But, honestly, he put on some awesome fights in his day for our benefit! I saw him in an airport once, short, but THICK as FUK. Dude could bang. His kid worth a shit?

I don’t know about his son
I am pretty sure you can bet he can fight, particularly from the fact he got taught by his dad
Also, Vargas was, ironically, in that movie Alpha Dog where he was one of the kidnappers. He got in some trouble for kidnapping in real life. I guess art imitates life

Damn, you don't often see fights described so one sided, sounds like he might have some skills too, even though you think he is kinda meh Barry. Double LOL at Ryan Garcia being escorted out be security haha!

I met fernando when he was with gabriel rosado at the stubhub center. He is built like a tank now I weight about 185 lbs and he was larger than me.

I think his son is a hype job similiar to chavez Jr record being built up his father was way more talented having seen him in his prime.

his fathers problem was that he was too arrogant and ghetto to evolve in his boxing.

de la hoya was a disciplined tactian who knew boxing on a technical level DLH only became undisciplined and drugged up around the Pacquiao and mayweather fights.

I think he could have beat those guys had he not half assed those fight camps.

Vargas SR was a hungry fighter out of ghetto ass oxnard his son suffers from being brought up in a lavish and more than comfortable lifestyle in a gargantuan vegas house similar to chavez JR who grew up with his dad having extreme opulence so they don't fight with motivation or hunger.
