Now before some of you geriatric 'purist' fanooks get all angry and break a hip, let's state some uncomfortable truths.
1. MMA is already mostly a pro-wrestling operation. From Chael to Conor back to Sakuraba to Lesnar to CM Punk - if you deny this, you are simply an idiot. Slap yourself for being so stupid and then slap your mother for sleeping with a random truck driver.
2. Boxing walkouts, particularly in the Reebok era, are fucking awful. Whereas once we could keep casual dipshits amused with flashy lights and dancing, now we can't keep them awake between fights. That's what 'purists' miss - this isn't about pathetic, virgin forum dwellers like us and whether or not we like it, it's about mongoloids that don't even know how to operate a computer or phone but have somehow managed to breed to create more mongoloids. They require shiny objects and distraction.
3. WWE is now on the same 'mainstream' network platform that the UFC was afraid of being shunned from if it was seen as having any link to pro wrestling-style production. This proves that the basic assumption (in fact, they just took some old boxing dipshit's word for it) that caused them to move to the boring, generic boxing walk-ins was completely wrong.
4. Entrances can immediately give guys a unique persona in the eyes of the casual fan without having to do build an entire-wwe character with promotional backing. WWE mouth breathers go apeshit over entrances alone and so can UFC mouth breathers.
The sport is completely stagnant and they can't seem to fix the structural issues with the roster. What they can do in the meantime is change up the presentation and help guys stand out and promote themselves.
