Expert is a bit strong I'm a level 2 instructor that means I can lead groups of 6 to 1 ratio on sheltered or inland water lakes not rivers, teach and certify them in the fundamental skills and water safety and rescue. I can also assist on rivers but have to be with a Level 3 or higher instructor if it's work. That's a great day the less good days are keeping kids alive and happy in that order while they thrash about and push each other off boats.
Personal skills wise I'm about a purple belt I have the techniques for white water but they aren't refined and I need a lot more experience.
