Buy contact lenses w/o rx?

I feel like my rx is constantly expiring right when I need to buy new contact lenses, which of course I buy when i'm OUT, not beforehand which would be smart. The roadblock is that I have to schedule an appt with the eye doc to get a new rx, everything takes forever and it's a pain in my ass.

Are there sites that allow you to buy contacts w/o an rx? it hasn't changed in 20 years, so it's not like i NEED the eye doc to check them.
