For those of you seeing this for the first time, I write a series of articles about UFC events and the statistics and fun facts that follow. These include rare and unusual occurrences as well as a fighter's choice in walkout music.

Over the years, I have collected information from every UFC fight and attach the fighters' walkout music whenever available.

Here we are, the end of the Joe Silva era, a wildly popular submission, a rapidly rising star and more with this next edition of Cage Captions!

Cage Captions: UFC 210

Thanks for reading, and if you have any feedback whatsoever, feel free to let me know.

TMMAC Deleted Scenes

Meteoric Fall

Chris Weidman became the FIRST former champion in UFC history to lose their belt and then get knocked out in their next two fights.

Set Fire to Water
Patrick Cote walked out to Eminem’s “Cinderella Man” for the final bout in his career, losing valiantly to Thiago Alves.

The loss drops the track to a staggering 3 wins with 12 losses, making “Cinderella Man” the least successful track in UFC history with 15 uses or more.

Just read this on Fightland and thought you may have forgotten to post it here. I thought that there had been a champ that missed weight but I think I was remembering the Silva vs Lutter fight where Travis missed weight.

And Anthony with five rnc losses has to be rivaling Trigg for neck vulnerability.

There had been three title challengers to miss weight before - Joe Riggs before his fight with champ Matt Hughes, Travis Lutter before his fight with champ Anderson Silva, and Anthony Pettis before his fight with Max Holloway for the interim 145 belt. No champ had lost the belt on the scale in the UFC, and DC just about came the closest. Rumble is making a formal appeal to the commission about DC's weight, but I'm not sure how far that will go given their immediate statement about "we didn't see him grab the towel" despite incontrovertible video evidence of him grabbing the towel.

And it's kind of stunning that Rumble's 5 legit losses (his TKO loss was due to eye pokes from Kevin Burns but the fight should have gone to a technical decision the fight reached the third round) are all rear naked chokes. Trigg has only lost to a rear naked choke three times, but they were all on the highest stage against Hughes twice and then against GSP. He's kind of known for those two chokes, especially the second Hughes fight.

And I won't forget TMMAC, it's responsible (sup Wild @Wild) for launching my pro writing career. That's why I include deleted scenes, I think you guys will like those bonus facts.

Damn dude, I'll make sure to never get in an mma history argument with you. Keep up the good work in the captions, it's reminds me of pop up video (back when it was good) for mma.

Pleasure to have you share the content with us, when there's much larger forums where you do so. Appreciated sir.

Yeah I've spent a lot of time in the trenches of the spreadsheets, probably too much time to be honest, but I've learned a whole lot from this project that started almost five years ago. Crazy to think I went from a handful of "I heard this song at this fight" anecdotal bits of information about Eminem all the way to an insane spreadsheet library with breakdowns among breakdowns and so much information.

I'm working on a new article now, and I feel like this.

I'm glad you guys enjoy it. I don't post for clicks or any of that nonsense, I just share it because I think the community will enjoy this kind of information. I love gathering it so I know there must be at least one more dude out there that reads this and goes "oh snap!"

Ended up getting the next article done tonight, I'm a little worn out from poring through spreadsheets but it'll likely get published in the next few days. It's a good feature, took a lot of work but I'm happy with it.

I somehow missed this comment and should have responded accordingly - That's exactly what we were going for when we decided to make this. We had access to wonderful pictures and some really killer stats about what was going on, and thought it would be fun to throw in those facts/stats with the appropriate images. We loved Pop Up Video, and that was one of our major inspirations for Cage Captions.
