I heard there are issues about adults watching porn in Texas. Something about age verification. Did the Texas government actually get in involved in how people watch porn in that state? If so, why? Were they having major issues with that? What happened? Maybe I was lied to.

From what I understand it's only pornhub getting blocked in select states. I could be wrong though.

But also, there's millions of porn sites out there that dont require age verification. Good luck blocking all of them.

Seems like it's all of the larger sites in my State. Pornhub, tube galore, you porn etc. But, they can be accessed with a VPN.

Pornhub is blocked here in NC and several other states. I think almost all the "hub" and "tube" sites are (i.e. - ones with "hub" & "tube" in the name / url) because I think they're all owned by the same parent company.

A clip of this woman on Theo Von's podcast showed up on my youtube a couple weeks ago and it was both fascinating and kinda creepy. She's fighting human trafficking and has apparently done a ton of work trying to keep shit like underage porn getting published, taken down, etc. She talked about a lot of the stuff they've done, discovered, and more. Like how there was basically no age verification for a while, and more. She talked about the hub sites getting blocked and such.

I'll see if I can find the clip.

Why those sites? Are a lot of kids watching porn, and why is that a problem? Are they growing up and gorilla fucking girls? I mean I do that with chicks my age. Why is that a problem? Women I f seem to like it.

Also, was this a news story or something?

I thought they were verifying the age of the person watching. I don't understand how age verification of that person prevents underage people in the porn. I mean, I agree in taking down that content and arresting the person making and in the porn where a kid is rape. Well, any porn that is actual rape.

They're two separate issues.

Because of the hardcore push to stop trafficking, underage, etc, they started supposedly putting more stringest standards on what can be uploaded to the sites, requiring age verification, actually having people watch the porn to see if people look underage, etc.

(Imagine it being your job to watch porn all day. Dang.)

The big company that owns all the hub / tube sites got hit with so much bad press, fines, etc, they also put the age verification to watch in place too as (likely) added good PR...a sorta "see how we're trying to help" kinda thing.

Or at least, that's how I understand it. The clip above talks a lot more about it.

Basically, they'll do anything and everything they can to protect their ad revenue as it's an INSANE amount of $$$.

As a separate issue, I believe some states are now requiring people to verify their age in order to view porn. Not sure how many or which ones, though.
