I have watched several hours of video, multiple interviews of Assad over the years.
The man has always come off as more genuine, articulate, and sensible than most of our puppets.
Certainly more knowledgeable, which seems to be a favorable trait amongst doctors turned politicians.
Why anyone would want to be a president in the Middle East is beyond me, it's always an eventual death sentence.
