A middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and challenger Luke Rockhold will co-headline UFC 194 in December.
UFC officials today announced the fight via “SportsCenter.”
UFC 194 takes place Dec. 12 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
As previously announced, longtime featherweight champion Jose Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) meets recently crowned interim titleholder Conor McGregor (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) in the headliner.

Doubt Weidman cares. It will sell more ppvs with Conor and Aldo as the headliners and that means more money for Weidman.
Weidman stole Machida's soul.
Was that due to going the distance? Lyotos soul wasn't built for championship rounds it seems. Luke chose to just end it in brutal fasion.
I see it that way too, or at least he wins the fight outright. I think Weidman is just a step ahead.
Why? Tradition? This is the star business dude. That thinking is so 2015. It is all about the bigger draw for PPV. Thats the way its post da be.
“It has nothing to with her not being a star. It goes by weight,” White told UFC.com in his weekly exclusive interview. “If she was the highest weighted champion on the card, she would be the main event, but you have two guys that are middleweights and she weighs 135 pounds – so she’s the co-main.”
