Unlike many fighters, Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler welcomes the stringent USADA testing procedures with open arms.

This Saturday’s Bellator 221 lightweight championship fight between Michael Chandler and Patricio “Pitbull” Friere has turned a little personal. Last month, Friere accused the champion of being on performance-enhancing drugs given his connection with former UFC titleholder T.J. Dillashaw, who was recently suspended after testing positive for EPO.

“His legacy is doping. That’s his legacy,” Freire told MMA Fighting in April. “He’s done this all by doping. He knows it. He knows he just needs to be random tested and you’ll see. That’s it. That’s why he didn’t join the UFC, because he’s avoiding USADA.”

Chandler went on to address these claims during an episode of The MMA Hour.

Saying you wish you had USADA testing is easy when you don't have to worry about it actually happening.

that's right. at the moment he doesn't have to worry about willy-checking imposters, but as a UFC fighter, that is a genuine concern.
