Will Phil Brooks, more popularly known as former WWE wrestler-turned-UFC fighter CM Punk, actually fight in the Octagon? Is this a serious endeavor for him? Even if he does fight, won't it just be two, perhaps three times tops?

"What's wrong with doing it just two or three fights? That's a lot of money," Punk told Colin Cowherd on Tuesday's The Herd radio show.

"I know people think this is a publicity stunt, I'm never going to set foot in the Octagon," he acknowledged. "I look forward to proving them wrong, but to me, it's not super far-fetched to be like, 'You know what? What if I put three or four wins together? Who's to say I don't get a title shot?'

He thinks he might get a title shot from an 0-0 record. If he does there will be movies made, books written and I will have a rib removed to eat my own dick.

Well you have to remember, dana rewards those that back rub him, so I wouldn't be surprised to see zuffa create a new division and give him the belt. After all they did that already for someone who shall remain nameless.

This more or less has always existed with stiff style pro wrestling and outright shoots. Pancrase was basically the equivalent of several Japanese pro wrestling stars creating an MMA org. Pride kind of was too, but with a mix of real fighters as well. Same thing with RINGS.

This is the single greatest argument against the UFC having control of the rankings as i've ever seen.
Could you imagine CM Punk getting a title shot at middleweight after 3-4 wins against unranked fighters, and then having to listen to Dana justify the decision?

"Listen you fucks, CM Punk is a badass, ok? Rockhold is done. Weidman is injured. Vitor is old. Henderson is old. Kennedy is a jackass. Souza is already booked. Loyoto is in Brazil drinking his piss. Uriah Hall is still crying that he almost killed Adam Cella. So it's not like he could fight those guys anyway. It just makes sense. And if you don't like it, spend your dollar somewhere else you clown-shoe wearing egg."


Oh man, and watching Rogan try to be amped about it during that post-undercard spot he does with Dana where he tells everybody to buy the PPV, that would be great.

Now Phil Brooks might do ok but id still rather not see the CM Punk name in the conversation of any title in mma, the same as to why i wouldnt have wanted Kimbo to win a belt using his stage name persay, i think it makes mma feel fake when these gimmick names are presented as real. He broke someone's arm wiht a suplex in one of his fights. He was a legit wrestler.

also, 4 wins in that division and it's not hard to think that CM would get a title shot. It's not exactly a claim that hasnt been made by anyone in any division. Just sayin'. Stop hating and look at what he's actually saying, instead of nit picking and making moutains out of mole hills.

There are 3 reasons WWE shys away. 1) Dealing with athletic commissions. 2) MMA fights don't have guaranteed levels of action/entertainment. 3) You can't control the outcome. It's honestly laughable how bent out of shape most MMA fans get about Pro Wrestlers.
