Campbell McLaren, who was in charge of the UFC in its early years, is back in business with the company as his Combate Americas promotion has signed a multi-year deal to be part of UFC Fight Pass.

The deal begins with a Monday night show from Los Angeles.

The first of what will be a minimum of eight events on Fight Pass in 2016 will be a show where the top three matches will also be broadcast on NBC Universo. The show is headlined by a featherweight fight featuring Erick Sanchez (6-2) of Team Alpha Male facing Mike Segura (4-2), a flyweight fight with Jesse Cruz (8-5) against Jonathan Martinez (6-2) and featherweights Angel Cruz (5-1) vs. Mario Navarro (4-4).

Combat Americas was formed as a reality show in 2014 which turned into a live event promotion on NBC Universo, focusing on Latin fighters, airing in Spanish and geared for the Latin audience.

Monday's event will be a four-hour show starting at 9 p.m. Eastern on Fight Pass.

I friend of mine was at a press conference a few weeks ago and posted pictures with the fighters in front of a banner with a bunch of logos including Fight Pass. I'm glad I can catch it there because when McLaren spoke about it on Chael Sonnen's podcast a while back I saw I didn't have NBC Universo. Fight Pass is pretty good now.

Yeah its weird theyre having it on a Monday. Traffic would probably be a nightmare
Yeah even without traffic it would take me at least an hour and a half. I've got so many events planned for the next couple of months I couldn't reason going to this to see a bunch of fighters I've never heard of.

solid pick up for the ufc, the hispanic market is huge if they could capitalize on it. im sure the ufc will pick up anybody who shows any bit of promise in these events... alot of money to be made in mexico, the ufc just hasnt successfully penetrated that market..

im actually kinda surprised... i would have thought that coker would have made a connection with combate americas. both operate out of california. coker isnt opposed to co promoting, and it would seem that both would win something out of this partnership.
